To be a TCAA Accredited Instructor you will need to fill out the following online form. Before you fill out all the application you will need to have the following documentation to accompany the online application.

Option A: Self-Practice Under Mentorship
- Part A: Written references or endorsements
- Part B: Documentation proving minimum 5 years OR 200 hours continuous practice
- Part C: Detailed Tai Chi CV
OR Option B: Competition Achievement
- Part A: Competition certificates showing participation in THREE TCAA-recognized competitions.
- Part B: Detailed Tai Chi CV
OR Option C: Chinese Wushu Association Duan Wei Grading
- Part A: Grading certificates for Level 4 and above
- Part B: Detailed Tai Chi CV
OR Option D: Video Assessment (Incurs additional charge)
- Part A: Video submission (1-3 videos, max 5 minutes each)
- Part B: Detailed Tai Chi CV
Option A: TCAA Online Examination
- Complete the TCAA Instructor’s Accreditation Examination
OR Option B: TCAA-Approved Theory Lessons
- Provide Certificate of completion from TCAA-approved provider
Option A: TCAA Recognised Instructor Training Program
- Part A: Completion of TCAA-Recognized Instructor Training Program within the last 10 years and continuous teaching thereafter
- Part B: Certificate of completion from a recognized provider within the last 10 years and continuous teaching thereafter
Option A: Teaching Summary
- Part A: Supply an estimate of the number of classes taught, average number of students, overview of content covered, student progression notes if available.
- Part B: Minimum of 100 hours documented.
- Part C: Statutory Declaration confirming the above is true and correct.
OR Option B: Student Testimonials/Feedback
- Testimonials must reflect form and technique instruction, philosophy integration, movement correction, individual student support, and confirm they have had a minimum of 100 hours of teaching from the applicant. (Minimum 3)
Option A: TCAA Recognised Instructor Training Program
- Part A: Certificate of completion or Training Logs and Assessment Results from a TCAA-recognised Instructor Training Program
OR Option B: WHS Training with a Registered Training Organisation + Basic Human Anatomy
- Part A: WHS Certificate of Completion or Statement of Attainment from a Registered Training Organisation
- Part B: Documentation proving basic understanding of human anatomy (certificate or completion of a relevant course or documented experience)
OR Option C: Risk Management and Human Anatomy Courses
- Part A: Certificates of Completion provided for relevant modules/course by a Registered Training Organisation
- Part B: Detailed Tai Chi CV
OR Option D: Risk Management and Human Anatomy Experience.
This Option is only available for applicants who work in medical, allied health, occupational health and safety, first aid training, fitness etc.
- Part A: Risk assessment documentation
- Part B: Injury prevention documentation
- Part C: Basic human anatomy documentation
- Part D: Safe practice principles documentation
Section 3
Mandatory Requirements:
- Part A: Professional Indemnity Insurance Certificate of Currency
- Part B: Valid First Aid Certification (HLTAID011, HLTAID012, HLTAID013 or HLTAID014)
- Part C: Current Working with Children Check (WWC)
- Part D: Signed Statutory Declaration confirming: Accuracy of all information provided
