Traditional Yang Style Tai Chi Seminar – 5th September 26

Traditional Yang Style Tai Chi Seminar
Saturday 5 September 2026 | 10:00 am – 4:00 pm | North Ryde, NSW

Join TCAA’s very own Yang Style Tai Chi masters Sifu James Gao, Cyril Loa and Sam Ruan for a full-day seminar exploring authentic Traditional Yang Style Taijiquan. All three are Sixth-Generation Traditional Yang Style Taijiquan Inheritors with many years of teaching experience.
This seminar offers a unique opportunity to learn Yang Style Tai Chi from two complementary perspectives: foundational movement training and internal skill development.

SEMINAR PROGRAM
Venue: Lachlan’s Line Auditorium, Lachlan’s Line Square, Jarvis Cct, North Ryde NSW 2113

Morning session (10am – 12:30pm) – “The Eight Foundational Forms” with Masters Cyril Loa and Sam Ruan
The Eight Foundational Forms are a compact training set derived from the core movements of the Traditional Yang Style 85-Form. Designed for beginners while benefiting practitioners of all levels, this session develops correct body mechanics, balance, coordination and stepping skills—the essential foundation for authentic Traditional Yang Style Taijiquan.

Afternoon session (1:30pm – 4pm) – “Unlocking the Internal Direction of Tai Chi” with Master James Gao
Many Tai Chi classes focus on external choreography—shapes, movements and visible techniques. The deeper value of Tai Chi, however, lies in developing internal skills.
In this session, Master James Gao will guide participants through a clear, principle-based progression that opens the internal direction of Tai Chi and transforms how movement, structure and power are understood.
